The Electro and Percussion folders include loops that were twisted, bent, folded, stapled, and mutilated from acoustic percussion sounds to the point of being unrecognizable—but very electronic. These are good for a lot more styles of EDM than just electro, and we bet you haven’t heard these sounds before. And, there’s a folder of tambourine loops that work well with rock, pop, and more mainstream forms of music. Taken as a group, you can find suitable percussion accents for many different musical styles and genres.

Native tempos are 90 BPM (Electro folder) and 100 BPM (Tambourine and Percussion folders), so they stretch over a wide range of tempos—from hip-hop to drum ‘n’ bass. Furthermore, many DAWs can separate out individual REX file slices, which you can re-combine to create even more loops.
Note: With Apple Logic Pro X, REX2 file support requires running a terminal command. Many virtual instruments also support REX2 files.
